Sunset Sushi

   Brett called to say he was driving to Clinton Lake to look for owls, and I was finally feeling better tonight, so he picked up me & the Shibas (with Sam in the front seat) and we headed out in time for sunset. Sunset was very pretty, but we saw no owls.

   My bestest buddy, Kelly, is working on an awesome tribute to the furry friends in my life (including the recently departed). It's not quite complete, but I'm already frame-shopping. (((LOVE)))

Sweet Felted Shibas

   The other present from Madel was a kit to make two lil' wool-felted Shiba Inu cell phone straps! It goes so well with the kit Patty brought back for me last year. So thankful that I learned how to felt this fall... can't wait to make these guys!

   Not sure how to work the camera yet... so far I'm getting a bunch of blurry shots... yet, already better than my old Blackberry! And now for the Instagram version. I love you, iPhone...

   We're having our first real snow of the season. Hoping that Denver is getting some fresh pow too! Just picked up my freshly-tuned snowboard yesterday (ground/filled/waxed) and can't wait to use it!!!

   Too occasionally. Hoping to amp up the art in 2012. Be more creative & inspired, have more fun, experiment, draw up a storm! A good resolution for the new year, no?

   The turkey vulture was especially proud and showy, changing poses frequently. Much more charming than you might expect a vulture to be!

A Great, Great Blue Heron

   After stalking the snowy owl by the boat ramp for a while, Joni instructed me how to effectively approach a great blue heron at the end of the dock. These guys are quite shy if approached too quickly. We were able to get some decent shots before he swiftly flew across the water:
