@&!#%!!!

Add another kill to Aki's quarry: I arrived home & put the dogs out, then went to change clothes. By the time I returned to take them to the dog park, I witnessed this poor squirrel taking his final breaths. It appears that Aki was able to snag him by the tail (half of which was missing), drag him down, and deliver a bite to puncture his heart. Of course the sight sickened me; a squirrel up close is actually quite adorable, & this one was healthy and fat. What a shame that nature served him an untimely death. :(
It is amazing, however, to see such intensity in my pup, and she was very proud of her catch—when I found her, she was staring—and snarling—at a low branch on which the former squirrel's friend sat, chattering in disbelief...
"I dare YOU to come down here," Aki says to this poor squirrel's buddy. Though she caught the first, she remained ready to catch the next, ever-alert.

In other wildlife news, the national news is covering the story of a Georgia man who shot and killed a monster buck: 4.5 years old, 22-points, and weighing in at 260 pounds. To this man I say: You are a huge d-bag. Killing such an incredible and unique animal in its prime? You suck.
