In Memory

   It has been a year since I lost my lil' buddy, Atom. Funny how it seems so long ago, and like it was yesterday, all at once. I don't think a day has gone by that I haven't thought fondly of him. And now that the weather is getting cooler, I worry a little that he isn't here to catch any intruders who try to come in to the warmth of the house. Aki is a decent mouser, Kismet is untested, and Tay is useless in that department... he is fooled by a laser pointer!
   I miss Atom's handsome face, his sweet, cuddly personality and ridiculously soft fur. He'd never pass up the opportunity to curl up on my lap or lay next to my head on the pillow. Such a gentle soul, and I hope he is resting in peace.
