I just did the math... I've been riding the bus to work 2-3 days per week since April, and if I compare my spending on fuel from January-March with April-June, there is a $110 savings over three months. Three months of bus passes total $105, so I come out slightly ahead... until I factor in the additional savings from less wear & tear on my car, and the awesome-yet-unquantifiable savings of arriving at my destination on time and stress free. Priceless!
It has been a busy summer, and I drive to work on the days that I have an appointment or event after work. I'd love to ride more frequently (and free up my calendar, quite honestly) so that's my goal for the rest of the year.
