Tampa Zoo: Lowry Park

Brown pelican:
After my recent visit to our zoo, I looked back at some of my other zoo experiences, and was pleased at how far my photography skills have come in a relatively short time! (Of course, when you take thousands of shots, I suppose you're bound to get better...) I took these at Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida in May 2004, while I was visiting with my Dad, Stepmom & half-sister at their Clearwater, FL condo.
Tiger (through dirty glass, unfortunately):
Tapir:
And my favorite part: the stingray tidepool:
The stingrays seemed VERY friendly & curious about people. They loved to be touched & would zip around & around the pool. A couple of them, most notably the giant one with eyes on top, also liked to splash. They really seemed intelligent and their skin felt so cool. Can't wait to learn SCUBA diving so I can have a REALLY wild experience!
