(For the record, I can't recommend 7 hours of gardening followed by sprinting, with a chaser of almost no sleep. I was Zombie Jen today!)

Kansas City Corporate Challenge
Last night I ran my second race for KCCC, the 1600m. The weather was WEAK...cold & windy & rainy the whole time. But at least the thunder & lightning stopped long enough to run the races. This was my first time running on a track (at least since high school gym class, which hardly counts!) Much nicer than running on the road, IMHO. In my age group I finished in 8th place, with a time of 7:29. Which isn't fast, but still beat my best time for a mile in a race so far! I earned 6 points for Hallmark. The best part was watching my friend Danielle shooting around the track. It's fun to watch talented people do their thing! She also ran the 4x4 relay in the same night, so clearly she had eaten her Wheaties. Due to the rain delays, the meet ended after 11 pm, so I don't know the final results of the relay yet...
