5th annual "Suds of Fun" for HSGKC

Tonight I volunteered at HSGKC's "Suds of Fun" event. The shibas came along, but were spared from a bath because I was so busy registering attendees & selling raffle tickets. At least 67 people showed up (many with more than one dog). My dogs did so great that people kept commenting on how well-behaved they were, which feels like a real accomplishment to me considering all the work I've done to socialize them. Pat, the owner of U-Wash Puppy jokingly told a woman that my dogs were up for adoption—and she was genuinely disappointed when she learned the truth! LOL
Taylor enjoyed the attention of these two kids that hung out behind me for a long time. Aki did not. I actually saw the little girl HIT Aki in the face. So Aki snapped at her—did NOT bite her—just wrinkled her nose & tried to warn her. So the girl KICKED Aki in the face & in the side. Fortunately her mother had returned by that point & she put an end to it. Sad that kids don't know how to behave around animals. No real harm to Aki, but I hate for her to have bad experiences with kids.
I spy a couple of kids overdue for their naps!
