Can't get enough Mutemath

Some people would call me a groupie (Allyson & Nina!), but after seeing Mutemath in KC last week, I couldn't bear to not see them again on this tour. Their new album has me captivated. It has been a long time since I've discovered music that I've enjoyed so much! So we ventured to The Pageant:
Is there anything hotter than a man with a keytar?
Great lighting & video made the show so fun to watch:
Paul belts out a song:
ATAL opened again, and I talked to the lead singer (who looks like my friend Monte) at their merch table before the show. He had been sick for the KC show (and even missed 2 subsequent performances entirely!) But said his voice was back in force. And was it ever! Much more powerful this time, which made them even more fun to watch. But for sheer fun, it's hard to beat their bassist, who is a walking caricature (and looks a lot like Sheppa!):
His exaggerated movements nearly caused him to lose his glasses again at this show. Perhaps he should consider duct-taping them on his head, as Darren does with his headphones!

Once again, Mutemath didn't disappoint, but it was interesting to compare back-to-back shows. The acoustics at the Beaumont were much better than The Pageant, where the sound was often so loud that it was terribly distorted. (You can tell on the videos I uploaded, below.) This made it much harder to appreciate Paul's incredible singing and the talent in the band's instrumentation. Paul's voice did appear to be suffering from their aggressive tour schedule. They have been playing different cities practically every night! Aside from all that, though, it was still one of the most enjoyable shows I've ever seen. And well-worth the trip!

And I don't know WTF it is with the Hallmarker look-alikes, but the guitarist could have easily been Dawbarn's twin brother!
