a little high-tech holiday cheer
‘Traffic Light Tree,’ a piece of public art containing 75 sets of traffic lights, was designed by Paris-born artist Pierre Vivant and installed in 1998. The sculpture was designed to mimic the tree it replaced (which was choking to death as a result of pollution). (Thanks, John!)
