I kicked off the new year right—by starting to give my house a thorough & much-needed cleaning. Spent 7 hours yesterday Swiffering & then vaccuming the floors, dusting, de-hairing the furniture, doing laundry, making the bed, scrubbing the bathrooms & general straightening up. The dogs even got baths. (And then refused to go outside the rest of the day, because they were damp & cold!) This morning I went to the gym for an hour, then came home & spent over an hour cleaning, polishing & sealing the granite countertops in the kitchen. Last year I kept my new year's resolution to join a gym & stick to it. I've been going 3-6 times a week since February, and am in the best shape of my life! The great surprise was that I actually ENJOY it, so I look forward to working out & even miss it when I can't. Using the treadmill, elliptical, weights and various classes (yoga, step aerobics and my favorite—BOOT CAMP!) enabled me to run several races this year, and compete in KCCC.
My resolution for 2010 is to find a competent & trustworthy housekeeper. I don't have the time or the desire to keep up with this myself anymore.
Last night, Maureen & Terry hosted a "Happy Hula-days" party. You can't go wrong with Blue Hawaiis complete with mini umbrellas, music by the Black Eyed Peas, and copious amounts of cocktail weenies, I always say! (Thanks to Kristin for the sparkly sweater for my birthday!!)
it looks awesome!!! and i'm accepting clients for my personal shopping business that i'm starting ;)
