As a final send-off to those of us who are moving on to new roles + new teams, Steve & I rounded up the troops tonight for a Humor Happy Hour at La Bodega. Pretty sure "La Bodega" is Spanish for "eating @%*ing delicious tapas with friends." We missed you Liz & John & Lainie!!! (Twist our arms; we'll go again.)
Maureen, Sarah & Rachel:
Mike, Dave & Brenda
Maureen attempts to describe the size of something huge
(insert TWSS here):
Something is very funny. (Oh right. It's us.)A toast to bacon-wrapped dates!
(The fruit, not the person you go out with. Although...)
Carolyn & me (halfway through a pitcher of Sangria. Ole!):
Steve, Maureen & Cassie:
And you thought no one could come between Brenda & Carolyn:
Look for this inside the dust-jacket of Steve's next masterpiece:
Maureen wonders why all the food is disappearing:
I pretty much made sure there was nothing left!
And so ends yet another chapter in my Hallmark career.
And just to make your mouth water, we sampled the white bean puree, rosemary & roasted red peppers; green beans, roasted potatoes & figs in walnut-fig dressing; skewered chicken & chorizo; skewered pork & apple; baked goat cheese & tomato sauce; pancetta-wrapped dates; meatballs in spicy garlic-cream sauce; roasted mushroom, ham-wrapped scallops, & pancetta-wrapped shrimp. (You can't go wrong with a preponderance of cured pork products, toasted bread & garlic!)
I LOVE La Bodega!! The baked goat cheese & tomato sauce is the best!
ReplyDeleteHa ha—that's my favorite too! (But every time I go I make sure to try something new.) Tonight I'm going to try to recreate one of their tapas...
