Flora

Rose of Sharon: the buds look like meringue cookies! I like that different colored flowers grow on the same plant.
Miscellaneous weeds that I have not yet removed. (Might as well let winter kill them now, right?):

  1. Jen-I think your mystery tree is a tulip tree or tulip poplar, one of my favorite trees ever. The flowers (if you ever get to see them because this tree gets tall!!!!) are absolutely gorgeous. These trees grow fast but surprisingly, the wood is not weak. They have absolutely no pests and are native to the U.S. If you're happy where it's growing, let it grow. It's a good one.
