Here's a peek into my process: First, I fill up several pages with concept sketches. (And, as is often the case, one of my first ideas is my favorite):
Then I do linework & lettering on a few, to narrow it down:
Once I've chosen, I create a simple, informational version of the design for the logo and a design for t-shirts:
Next, I experiment with color on my chosen t-shirt design (which I'm calling "Animandala"):
...Until I land on the final color versions for the t-shirts.
Girls':
And guys':
I still need to do all the technical prep of the files, my least favorite part. (I'm not so detail-oriented, so by the time I get to this stage, I'm restless to move on to something else.)
So what do you think? Like it? Hate it? Is the guys' version boyish enough? I love that green, but I'm not the best judge... Leave some comments for me, please.

I love ALL the colors and your design.I get that you have to narrow down to two colors, but do you have to label them "guys" and "girls"? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteI say this because I would want a green shirt for myself, but so would David--because green is his favorite color. My favorite color is blue, so that would be my first choice, but I'd settle for green. I also love yellow and orange. Not sure if these comments help.
For the shirts I like the pink and green - very cool.
ReplyDeleteI love all the logo designs but my favorite is the one with the dogs and cats running along the top of the words Art Unleashed.
Really fun ideas!! Well done!!
