Krazy Kizzy is a Krazy Kitty!

Miss Krazy begged to go outside in the backyard with the dogs this morning, just as she does every day. I only indulge her when I am able to supervise her, ever since I learned that she was leaving the yard. And it was my pleasure to supervise, as we had our FIRST SNOW of the season overnight (and really, first snow since 2011), so I knew this was the first snow she has seen!
Her reaction was what I would have guessed: she sprung out the door and onto the deck—into an inch of snow. She stopped, looked down, and shook off her feet. She was at once intrigued, bewildered, and annoyed, based on her expression.
I cannot imagine how I could possibly love this cat more. Look at that FACE! She's gorgeous, curious, confident, and hilarious. ALL the best traits of her predecessors, Gypsy & Atom. It's like they were reincarnated together as Kismet. And Kismet it is, indeed! (Kismet just so happens to mean "destiny" or "fate".)
I wonder what her fate will be when we try Litter Kwitter? My friend Trish tried it with her kitties & brought the kit to me today to try with Kismet. It's a system of rings that attach to your toilet seat to progressively potty-train your kitty. I believe she is smart, agile, and just plain krazy enough to give it a whirl. We shall see... Should be a fun trial over holiday break!
Trial #2 is training Taylor to return reliably when called while off-leash. He is so close to being good, but is too tempted by interesting smells in the woods. A true hunter! So I broke down and bought an e-collar, which I never thought I would use, but when used appropriately and humanely, they serve to "extend your arm" and get the dog's attention when off leash. Mastering this skill could literally save his life someday, and I SO want him to be able to enjoy our hikes untethered!
If everyone passes with flying colors, I plan to start a Pet Mensa group. Details & full report to follow.
