   I'd prefer not to have pets on the furniture. But she just jumped up next to me, curled up in a ball, leaned against me--hard--and fell asleep. Now she's quietly snoring. How far we've come since the 6-month old rescue who was afraid of me!
   She's smitten with Joni too. Aki definitely associates Joni with her dogs, and great hikes. When Joni stopped by for dinner last night, Aki was jumping on her, huge Shiba smile, & squealing with delight. We should discourage the jumping, but it's just so darn nice to see her so genuinely happy!
