Meet Marty Gaul

Here's my Aunt Marty proving how much she knows about the freshest seafood in the grocery business. (Almost makes me wish I lived in Cleveland, so I could sample it.) She got us hooked up to visit Favco in Anchorage, Alaska in June 2011. What an amazing company—the owner couldn't be nicer. And hospitable... we stayed with them in an incredible log house he built himself, in Peterson Bay, overlooking the ocean. With seals and sea otters playing in the cove just below the house. He and his wife made incredible seafood dinners for us every night. He also introduced us to one of his fishermen, with giant crates full of fresh-caught sockeye on the boat. Sushi anyone?
Quite an experience! Too bad I never got around to uploading my trip photos, eh? I spent months on a photo book, and never got back to it. Someday...
