I'm seeing The Mikado tonight at the Kauffman. It is 3 hours long & doesn't start 'til 7:30. Precisely 0% chance of being awake for the entirety... Unless Madeline is really vigilant about elbowing me when I start to fade. And that is meiosis. It has been an insane couple of weeks at work.

Thank you, Mr. Hall! |
It should be a great show, though... Patty saw it on Monday and loved it. The Japanese theme should be interesting, and outdated, as the show premiered in 1885. Apparently a lot of offense lyrics are changed in modern productions. And I understand that Gilbert and Sullivan were more concerned with humor than cultural accuracy.
P.S. Mikado means "emperor", and I just so happen to share the birthday of the current Emperor, Akihito.
A few photos of the magnificent center at night:
Hope you enjoyed it - one of my friends was in the production you just saw - she's getting her Master's there in KC.
