Google must have known it was my birthday... right?!!?
Started the day with an 8 mile run through the Pearl, across the Steel Bridge, through charming east Portland neighborhoods, then back across the Hawthorne bridge, up along the waterfront, and back to the Pearl.
The first couple of miles it was pouring rain, with the wind in my face, but I persevered and was rewarded with better weather rolling in, gorgeous views, fresh air, and feeling like a million bucks. 8 miles felt like NOTHING today. If I hadn't had plans at 1:00, I'd have kept going for sure...

Homemade chocolate-espresso-whipped cream mocha. Quite possibly the best coffee I've ever had in my life. And quite possibly I will be in a sugar coma for the next three days… thank you, Nossa Familia Coffee!
Window shopping. It's a birthday in Portland, so you KNOW I put a bird on it! One birdie for me, and one for my bestie, Charlotte, whose birthday was last month.
Followed up by a fun meeting at the animation production studio I'll be working with over the next few months. Can't say much about that for now… But it was a great meeting!
Then I got to meet Jean from NW Shiba Rescue—a longtime Facebook friend—for the first time ever. She took me to the members-only, highly swankified Multnomah Athletic Club for lunch and we had a great chance to talk.
Finally we saw proof that the sun does shine brightly in Portland…
And for the piece de resistance.... dinner at Andina!
