Inspiration: friends

   I saw this quote for the first time today, and I love it, because it rings so true. Amy and I finally had a chance to catch up on the phone last night, and a couple hours passed in seemingly a couple moments.

   Likewise, I spent several hours with Diane yesterday, reviewing my portfolio, and more importantly, having discussions about how to tell my story, and what I should explore for my next adventure. I think it will prove to be one of the most meaningful conversations of my life. How lucky I am to have my "Kansas City family." :)

   Today, Fred picked me up and whisked me away for a surprise lunch… The buffet at Ameristar Casino. Let's just say I ate way too many crab legs. And then we hit the dive shop, and I finally, FINALLY invested in my very own scuba kit! Chuck and Renée have graciously loaned me their gear for the last three or four years, saving me a lot of money and allowing me to figure out what I really wanted/needed.

   Aaaaand... you can call me "Even Steven," because Liz P called me from Sonoma today with a freelance illustration project for me. It will just about cover the price of my new gear. Thank you, Universe, for being awesome to me!!! I was feeling guilty about spending the money, and now I won't. Going to be busting my @** for the next week, but am thankful for every moment of it!
   And tonight, Kelly and I are going out for BBQ. He texted me earlier and said that several people at work asked about me today, that I am still on everyone's mind, and he said "you're still pretty popular at work." Made me feel so great! Love to Liz, and Stephanie, and Peter, and everyone else who's been in touch. And now, and awesomely-designed can of Pabst beer, as seen on the counter at Oklahoma Joe's. Just because.
