I was just informed that Timber, the Shiba boy I helped rescue in March 2013, has passed on to that great big dog park in the sky. He's the first rescue I've been involved with who has passed on, and I don't know much about his life these past years, as he moved out of state. I hope they were filled with love and joy—he, like all animals, deserved nothing less. Rest in peace, sweetie. I'll never forget your serenades in the car, and your dark, soulful eyes.
