#inktober 8 is a flock of little red birds. I've been talking with my friend Nneka about the wonderful learn to draw books by Ed Emberley. These birds were inspired by the ones in his "Great thumbprint drawing book".
If you have children or have ever wanted to learn to draw yourself, I highly recommend these books. When my sisters and I were young, my mother used to take us to the library every week, and invariably, we would choose another Emberley book. He is undoubtedly the person who influenced my style the most, as he teaches you how to break more complex drawings down into very simple shapes.
It's amazing how expressive and cute drawings can be with just a few simple lines! Thank you #edemberley !
