Chieko just sent me this photo of Hachi (my most recent foster pup) in a shirt that she made just for him—which perfectly matches his collar, leash & harness! Pretty adorable, no? And then another, because "Hachi" means "8" in Japanese. Hmm... I'm beginning to think he might be getting spoiled. LOL

Hachi comes for a visit
Chieko, Bill & Hana stopped by with Hachi this morning, to drop off a new crate for me, since I had loaned mine to them when they adopted the puppy. And they were so awesome: they brought breakfast for everyone too. Coffee & giant muffins from Dunkin Donuts!
Aki & Taylor were glad to see Hachi. But it was total deja vu: Hachi has a ton of puppy energy and is very confident & playful. Aki bossed him around & then chased him all over the yard, and Taylor didn't want any part of him... at first. He did a lot of snarling to warn Hachi to settle down. Later, when Hachi was about to leave, Taylor started playing peek-a-boo around the couch, running out to tag Hachi & then diving behind the couch again. So funny!!! I'm so glad that my friends adopted him so that I will still get to see him.

Indian Creek Trail walk
This afternoon the shibas & I met up with Chieko, Bill, Hana and Hachi (formerly Lobo) for a leisurely 2-hour walk on the Indian Creek Trail. We started from the trailhead at 127th & Black Bob and followed the trail south. As fun as walking was, the paved trail is perfect for bikes (which Hana enjoyed) and continues for over 15 miles. Time for me to get a bike!
Shiba lineup:
The trail snakes in & out of the woods and loosely follows a creek. It was hot today: about 95 degrees. The shade felt good. It would have been fun to let the shibas try the water, but mine just had a bath, and the creek didn't smell as good as they do...
There were tiny butterflies of all varieties. This one's wings were frayed, but it could still fly:
Taking a water break (those are some long tongues!):
We met a nice family in the woods. The kids loved dogs!
Maybe too much?
Please tell me she's not making out with my dog...
