Appreciating the Season

The spring flowers are spectacular, throughout my neighborhood and in my own backyard!
   And... OH, Taylor!
I've caught him burying bones in my flowerbeds, and bedding down in (aka "crushing") my ground cover. It's a damn good thing he's so cute!
Here he is, in all his dorky glory:

A tour of my yard

I love Spring because every time I go outside the landscape has completely changed again! Nearly everything is vibrant & green—today's rain really enriched the colors! Even one of the Clematis that I planted last Fall (which I was sure had died due to the extreme heat & sun) is coming back! Fingers crossed that the other regenerates too.
The rhododendron outside my front window:
A seedling. Any guesses as to what kind?

The buds look like fireworks:
Burning bush (there were NO leaves only 2 weeks ago!)
A striking mini iris!
Rosemary (lavender and cilantro coming soon!):
Some type of groundcover (should have saved the tag!)
Sedum:
Asiatic lilies: They look amazing now & they're just leaves!
These plants are with my hostas. I had no idea they would flower!

A nice spring evening at home

Everywhere you walk in my neighborhood you can smell lilac. The bushes seem to be everywhere, with their intoxicatingly sweet scent. These are in my own backyard:
Baby maple seed
I know these are weeds. But pretty weeds nonetheless!
Aki loves to play fetch. Taylor prefers to hang out.
