Ron, the former park ranger with whom I chatted in the meadow at the halfway point of my hike, had recommended that I stop to see the overlook on my way back south. I didn't have much time, but he stressed how impressive the view was, so I made time. And I'm so glad I did! I was looking west and the sun was starting to set, so the color isn't as intense as it would be at other times of day, but still... AMAZING. Next time I'll make more time to hang out here.
