This time of year I should steer clear of garden centers because I simply cannot resist the urge to buy a bunch of cool-looking flowers, many of which may not even be suited to the conditions of my yard. My flower beds are completely mismatched already, given that I've had 5 years of buying odd specimens. Saw these at Ace Hardware over the weekend. The photos don't even come close to looking as brilliant as the real flowers did. (Must... resist...) I did get my hummingbird feeders out on Saturday, so hopefully the birds will be back for a visit. If only I had some new flowers to attract them...
And just in time for spring, Kathy has these beautiful phalaenopsis orchids on her desk. My orchid at home is being stubborn about reblooming, though it has a couple of shiny new leaves. (I've gone nearly a year without killing it, so I've already exceeded my own expectations!)
