According to Madeline's pedometer (and iPhone GPS navigation) we hiked about 6 miles on the prairie, and another 2 miles in the neighborhood around the house tonight. And you know what that means: we worked up quite an appetite! With apologies to our new-found bovine friends, we were in the mood for steak! We walked up to the Grand Central Hotel on the town square and ordered dinner to take home: grilled ribeyes, prime rib, steak fries, and loaded baked potatoes. The beef was so fresh you could practically hear it "moo."
After dinner, Kelly played a little pinball:

And the dogs longed to play outside:

Then we all sat on the porch for a while, drank wine & ate gourmet chocolate, read books & magazines, and sketched. It was rough. Taylor used Madeline as a perch to look out for loose kitties:

And everything he does, little sister has to do too!

Then we eventually made our way to bed:
