Now for the rest of the photo essay on my day at the park! The rose garden:
I observed this guy for a while (carefully, from a distance). He didn't seem bothered by me. Thank goodness for zoom lenses! You can see its eyes, mandibles, leg hair, wing pattern and pollen cache:
After the rose garden, I walked around the lake:
The Canada geese were nesting around the perimeter:
Two interesting specimens: an edamame tree (which I later realized was just a redbud):
And an eyeball tree! (Actually, this reminds me of the berries collected in "The Secret of Kells!")

This guy seems to be giving us the stink-eye, so it's time to go!
