Thinking of my dear friend Joni, whose family has suffered a tragedy this holiday season. Joni and Alan visited Joni's family in Ohio for Christmas. They had a great trip, and drove back home the weekend after Christmas--the drive is about 12 hours. Then on New Year's Eve afternoon, Joni got the terrible new that her mom had died suddenly. They got back in the car to do the drive all over again, but this time with a sad purpose.
I'm sad for my friend.
