For the second year in a row, Hallmark artists will be selling their work at "Hallmarket," an art fair in the square outside headquarters on Saturday, October 1. I'm not participating myself (too many extracurriculars to make time to create all that artwork!) but will be there with my checkbook for sure. Last year's was great—don't miss it!

Bottoms Up Antique Market
Today Kelly talked me into braving the 100+ degree heat (with heat index from 110-120!) and heading up to the West Bottoms to check out this once-a-month flea market. It was in an old warehouse next to the railroad tracks & this spectacular old bridge. The market itself was pretty good: two floors of sellers, each with their own spin on a style or an era with their finds. Mostly, we saw a lot of ornate furniture, empty bell jars, tiny sets of mounted antlers, seashells & fan coral and assorted miscellany with the heavy patina that comes with age.
The sandwich, however, was not for sale.
