Tired Tay

Too much running at the park = one zonked-out doggie!

Tay is A-OK

The big man is sleeping soundly. It took 36 hours for his stomach to go back down to normal size. Now he's getting only sips of water and small amounts of food. I must find a way to teach him not to gulp them down, inhaling too much air.

Rear Window

Aki helps me keep my foot elevated.

Taylor isn't really helping much at all.
Gypsy is ready in case I need chest compression.

I feel like Jimmy Stewart in "Rear Window", except all I can see is cat.
The birds have been very active outside. Glad I filled the feeders on Tuesday!

So far, no murdering out there. Update later.

Hangin' on the Couch

I am a highly impatient patient, & am terribly bored after these first three days of lying around. Tired of the pain, ready to be back in my feet and running around again. Am I healed yet???
My caretakers today: Brett, Gyp, & Ak.

Funny Pets

Taken while lying on the couch, reading the paper and listening to CBS Sunday Morning...
‎"He's right behind me again, isn't he?"
‎"Oh god... now there are TWO of them!"

Kittylove

For more than three weeks I've spent the evenings sitting in the family room with Gyp snoozing on my lap, and I've often slept on the couch rather than disturb her. So sweet.

NOTICE

All pets are required to sleep symmetrically. From above, they looked just like a canine Rorschach.

Still trying to read the paper...

Still not having much luck! ;)
P.S. Atom is also not helping.

At Your Service

Gypsy is always willing to "help" me read the paper: by laying on it. I haven't been able to easily read the paper without interruption in over 14 years. And I love it.

Cats & Dogs Living Together: Mass Hysteria!

I have a VERY strict no-pets-on-the-furniture rule in my home. However, my pets don't seem to have received the memo. I came home from the race today to find this scene: two pets on each couch. Like I had interrupted an informal meeting or something.
(singing) "One of these things is not like the other..."
I'm especially surprised that finicky Gypsy was content to curl up near nosy Aki, who still delights in chasing the cats a bit, despite my protests.
Lots of pet hair on the couches, but I guess I should just feel fortunate that everyone gets along and that they actually all enjoy hanging out together. Maybe "enjoy" is a little too strong. They're not quite touching, but definitely not recoiling either...

Snow day meets work day

Yesterday and today I stayed home to write year-end performance reviews, rather than fighting the traffic and the snow at least an hour each way to work. And I got a lot done (7 out of 10... YIPPEE!!!) This was the view over the top of my laptop at any given moment, as I sat on the couch, my legs and feet being warmed by 1-3 furry bodies at a time. The animals loved having me at home, and though I was productive (writing is so much easier without the buzz of activity at work), I miss my coworkers. How great is that??
